JACQUELINE L. REARDON

The Daniel J. Gallivan Award recipient shall be a long-standing member of this Association who, while not a resident of the City of Holyoke, has made significant contributions to the overall success of the Parade and/or our Association

Jacqueline L. Reardon, a resident of South Hadley, was the wife of the late Walter J. Reardon. She has been a member of the St. Patrick’s Committee of Holyoke since 2000. Since joining, she has been involved with many committees, including Golf, Colleen Pageant, Coronation Ball, Bishop’s Mass, and for the last five years, has served as a co-chairman of the Citizenship/Awards Recognition Reception. Jacki was elected to the Board of Directors in 2006 as the Recording Secretary, a position she currently holds.
In 2005, Jacki was appointed the Holyoke Parade Committee liaison to the South Hadley St. Patrick’s Committee. The working relationship between these two committees has resulted in the Holyoke Committee being invited to co-sponsor, with the South Hadley Lions Club, their major fund raiser--the South Hadley Irish Night.

Jacki is a graduate of South Hadley High School and Henry W. Bishop Memorial School of Nursing in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She is a Registered Nurse, who has certification in Operating Room Nursing. She has been an Operating Nurse for forty-three years and is currently employed in Surgery at the Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer, Massachusetts.

Jackie’s organizational memberships include the Association of Operating Room Nurses, Inc., on which she has served in many positions on both its national and local levels. On the National level, she served on its Nominating Committee and Board of Directors. Civic involvements include her being part of the appointed Recreation Committee in the Town of South Hadley that started a Recreation Department. She is Secretary of the Council Grove Association in West Brookfield on Lake Wickaboag and she is a member of St. Patrick's Parish in South Hadley.

Jacki’s adorable three-year-old “dancing” granddaughter, Mairin Bresnahan,, loves to dance wherever and whenever she hears music. Jacki said Mairin has a great spirit and lively personality. She sees her as a future colleen. May the luck of the Irish be with her!

Jacki is looking forward to representing the regional committees as she marches in our St. Patrick’s Parade.
